INTERLAKEN: WHAT TO BRING

The ultimate guide!

Congratulations! You’ve booked yourself on some amazing activities in Interlaken and you’re ready for the trip of a lifetime! Now the countdown is underway and it’s time to think about the other details like where to meet, where to park, what to bring and what to expect. Here are our insider tips to help you breeze through the housekeeping so you can focus on the fun stuff.

Don’t find out the hard way … know before you go!

GENERAL

Before the trip

Eat a good breakfast. Adventure activities require energy, so fuel up beforehand.
Load camera batteries and check that your memory cards have enough space to capture those magic moments.
Take some photos and video of you getting ready. You’ll want to add before and after shots on your social profiles 😉

Meeting Points

Hopefully, you chose the correct meeting point when you made your booking. If not you can always call up and change it.
Most trips include a free pick up service around Interlaken
Most companies will pick you up from you hotel or one of the local train stations
If you are traveling by car, consider parking at the train station and meeting there.
There is some free parking at Outdoor Interlaken. Otherwise there is a large parking area close by on Tellweg.
Wait outside your hotel for pick up but don’t panic if the driver isn’t immediately there. Usually, one bus has to collect everyone from around town and sometimes people are late. Try to not be one of those people!

Weather

The weather plays an important role in outdoor activities. It always pays to check with the operator a day or 2 before and check there are no cancellations.
Read our weather post for more details
Dress according to the weather, and imagine it being slightly colder. Think about flying through the air, or getting out of the water, or waiting in the shade. You will be cooler than when standing on the ground in the sun in the middle of Interlaken.
